It would be an exaggeration to compare the country to a football stadium. But the fact remains that Brazilians feel at home inside it. A football match can be see everywhere on the streets, squares, parks, beaches, fields and obviously, stadium.
The main centers of this national sport are the larges metropolises: Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In Sao Paulo the mains teams Corinthias, Palmeiras and São Paulo, together with Santos (the only one not located in the capital), gather most supporters. In Rio, Flamengo, Fluminense, Botafogo and Vasco are the favourites. Important times also come from Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, with Grêmio and Internacional. Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, is home to Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro.
